Intentional Creativity for Survivors of Abuse

This last weekend I co-led a 6 hour workshop as part of my personal commitment to help women and children survivors of abuse. ¬†Since the showing of the Vagina Monologues last year, I have been able to donate over $750 to local organizations. This was another step in my commitment… sharing my own healing process with these women.

25 of us gathered for Light ON Foundation’s Community Day where they offer workshops for survivors at no cost. I was so blessed¬†that weekend my partner Lucie Lynch had already planned to fly over for another workshop so she helped hold space for these beautiful women.

We journeyed together, connected to the Queen of our Heart and then spent time with her message, painting, writing, visioning. At the end of the day, each women had a painting to remind her of what her Queen had told her, a painting to help her remember of her commitment to herself.

This workshop was a full circle moment for me. I remember painting my own pain and healing from trauma and here I was helping others do the same. If you’d like to see the work, many of the pieces will be hanging at the Kahilu Theatre during the showing of the Vagina Monologues February 8-9, 2014.
